A More Personal Way to Choose
Sound instruments are individual.
Two Singing Bowls or Gongs of a similar size may look alike yet respond very differently. Tone, sustain, responsiveness, harmonic character and the way an instrument feels when played are difficult to judge from photographs or specifications alone.
A Private Studio Visit gives you the opportunity to experience those differences directly and make a considered choice without feeling rushed.
Whether you are choosing your first instrument, adding to an existing collection or searching for something particular, the process remains yours.
We would rather you leave without an instrument than choose one that is not right for you.
Guidance When You Need It
A Studio Visit is deliberately client-led.
We can demonstrate instruments, help you compare differences in tone and response, answer practical questions and offer as much — or as little — guidance as you require.
A small selection of mallets is available, and you are welcome to bring your own. If you wish to use Professional Flumies, please bring your own and have suitable experience in their use.
Private Studio Visits are for instrument exploration, comparison and selection rather than personal practice, rehearsal or tuition.
Teaching and technique development are offered separately through our Creative Sound Workshops and one-to-one mentoring.

We can discuss what you are looking for, prepare suitable instruments from our current collection and demonstrate them during a one-to-one video call.
While a video call cannot reproduce the full acoustic experience of hearing an instrument in the studio, it can provide a useful way to compare options and make a more informed choice from a distance.
Before You Visit
Once your appointment is confirmed, we will send everything you need to prepare, including directions, parking and arrival information, together with a few practical Studio Care notes.
Please arrive at your confirmed time, bring socks or slippers for our shoe-free studio, and bring your own Flumies if you intend to use them.
