Workshop Description

Resonant Realms II: The Expanded Soundscape is a two-day immersive training in Creative Soundscaping, designed for advanced practitioners who wish to extend the expressive potential of acoustic instruments through the creative use of technology.

Building upon the foundations established in Resonant Realms I, participants explore how delay, reverb, looping, contact microphones, boundary microphones, live processing, and mixing can transform acoustic sounds into evolving sonic environments.

The emphasis is not on audio engineering, but on creative application. Every tool is explored through the lens of the Soundscape Road Map, ensuring that technology serves the journey rather than becoming the focus of the experience.

Advanced sound practitioners, gong practitioners, singing bowl practitioners, sound bath facilitators, musicians, improvisers, and graduates of Resonant Realms I who wish to expand their creative soundscaping practice.

Programme Theme

Day One: Extending the Acoustic World – Explore effects processing, looping, and the creative expansion of acoustic sound.

Day Two: Immersive Sonic Architecture – Discover microphones, mixing, layering, and collaborative construction of expanded soundscapes. You will be welcomed into a supportive community of like-minded individuals where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and growth unfolds through shared discovery. Whether your intention is to enhance your existing sound practice, develop new skills for facilitating Sound

Journeys, or simply explore the world of acoustic sound more deeply, Resonant Realms offers a nurturing environment in which to learn, play, and evolve.

Limited to just 4 participants, this workshop takes place in our studio in Machynlleth on the Southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park, mid-Wales.
