About the Event

Before you book, please understand this is an advanced level workshop and an advanced level of flumie playing skills is required. Solo performance to the group is also required. Flumieverse - The Augmented Soundscape is a unique two-day immersive workshop and advanced-level course for experienced flumie players seeking to expand their sonic vocabulary through gongs, flumies, and evolving approaches to sound creation. This workshop requires a high level of flumie playing skills and includes solo playing to the group.

Looking toward the future of expressive sound, the programme blends refined playing techniques with subtle electronic exploration, encouraging deeper creativity and immersive new approaches to composition, texture, and performance.

Designed as a highly practical and intimate experience, the workshop is limited to just 4 participants, creating space for deep exploration, personal guidance, and meaningful creative development.

Rather than focusing on sound healing or therapy, Flumieverse centres on the art of sound itself — exploring resonance, dynamics, atmosphere, and sonic texture through specialised playing techniques and hands-on experimentation. Alongside acoustic instruments, the programme introduces subtle electronic augmentation and processing, opening creative possibilities for layering, transformation, and immersive sonic expression.

Through demonstration and practice, you’ll develop fresh approaches to composing, performing, and crafting rich and engaging sound journeys.

Participants will have access to an exceptional collection of Original Singing Gongs, Flumies (friction mallets), and other inspiring instruments.

Teaching is heartfelt, supportive, and creatively led, with the intention that you leave feeling more confident, inspired, and connected to your own unique sound.

The workshop takes place on the edge of beautiful Snowdonia National Park in Mid-Wales, surrounded by mountains, forests, and stunning beaches just a short drive away — the perfect setting to recharge, reflect, and create.

An evening sound journey, hot drinks, and a delicious lunch are included.
