‘Into The Blackness And Beyond’ is an extrasensory sound experience for maximum 20 people; it is a sound-journey that embraces darkness as a key element. Darkness has been used in the compassionate teachings of the East and indigenous and shamanic cultures worldwide for centuries. ‘Into The Blackness And Beyond’ incorporates the largest production model gong an 80" Paiste, singing bowls and many, many other indigenous sound instruments, psycho-active sound triggers, aspects of sound therapy and also adopts what is known in the world of ‘sound’ as Acousmat Sound Theory. ‘Into The Blackness And Beyond’ is performed by Craig Shankster (Silence In Sound) and Bear Love (B Love Sacred Sound) and offers an opportunity to escape the regulatory patterns of everyday life; and by restricting the level of information received through the eyes, the true sense of listening is heightened and the mind can wonder freely. You will be using the eye of the mind instead of the eye of the optic nerve channel. If you truly want your awareness to be stretched, ‘Into The Blackness And Beyond’ is for you; however, if you have issues with the dark, you may want to sit this one out. This event is offered as a stand alone performance or as part of a larger event.
